My Philosophy

schoolI begin to think of what my beliefs, my thoughts, and what it is I want to accomplish in my career. There are things I think are important when becoming an educator. When summarizing these ideas together I discover what my philosophy of education is. I hope to one day teach a pre-kindergarten or even a kindergarten bilingual classroom.

I want to accomplish many things being an educator and I want to teach my students to rise to their greatest potential. To accomplish this, high expectations will be set in my classroom and I will push my students until they reach those expectations.  There are certain things I hope to achieve as a teacher and certain things I will expect my students to learn. Every day will be an opportunity to touch a life of a child, and to help them become an admirable citizen in the future.

A quote by Theodore Roosevelt states “We cannot always build the future for our youth, but we can build our youth for the future.” Society does not know what the future will hold. The beliefs that people have as a society are continually changing. What might be right today will be wrong in the future. One thing I want to be certain of ,as a teacher I can help in a small part to teach a child, not only what they need academically, but also I will try to teach them values that will help them be responsible adults.

To accomplish this, there are ideals that need to be set for me to be a successful teacher, not only for myself, but for each child that walks into my classroom.
